If you’re a fan of marmalade sandwiches, battered suitcases and duffle coats then you must be a fan of one of literature’s most polite cuddly characters – Paddington Bear. The adventures of the anthropmorphised ursine from Darkest Peru have been delighting readers since 1958 through Michael Bond’s books and now Paddington is set to enthrall cinemas audiences when he hits the big screen later this month in his own feature film. And there are plenty of printables to download to help build your children’s anticipation to a movie outing or to continue the fun at home after all the popcorn has been eaten…
The official website of the furry Brown family member hosts all his latest news and events including several trailers to tease your young movie-goers with ahead of the film’s November 28th release and you can also download several of the film posters.
It’s clear he’s a very busy bear and he’s also the furry face of Action Medical Research for Children’s fundraising event Bring your Bear. The UK charity that funds research to help sick babies, children with disabilities and those suffering from a rare disease, hosts a parent’s toolkit on its website including a printable mask, colour in page, bookmark, wordsearch, spot the difference and maze.
There are lots more colouring sheets available at Educational Coloring Pages and Leanne also includes a colouring in poster on her site DLTK’s Crafts for Kids along with a colour and a black and white template to accompany her Paddington Bear Toilet Paper Roll Craft. “Grab yourself a jar of marmalade, sit back and watch your kids put together a Paddington Bear tp roll craft… what could be sweeter? Paddington is made with a toilet paper tube, a printer, a piece of paper, some crayons, scissors and glue.”
Teaching Ideas includes a printable label as part of its ideas and resources based around the “most unusual bear”. Available in both a plain and a lined version, the website suggests using the template to make a new label for Paddington. The original asks his new family to “Please look after this bear” but what information could another tag tell people about him?
Perhaps it’s the potential contents of his hand luggage that interests your children more? Head to Sewdish graphic designer M Gulin’s blog for a free printable travel suitcase you can use to pack for your own teddy bear’s travels.
Leah of Mommy in the Mountains obviously couldn’t even wait until they’d arrived to introduce the character to her children designing some Paddington Bear Baby Shower Printables – including baby shirt project instructions, drink station menu, thank you for coming sign and thank you favour labels – that she shares with us on her blog.
And, if it’s a party you’re planning, why not download In Good Company’s Name That Bear and Paddington Bear Memory Game Cards as activities for your guests?
