British Science Week (March 13-22) is a 10-day programme of science, technology, engineering and maths events and activities across the UK for people of all ages.
BSW provides a platform to stimulate and support teachers, STEM professionals, science communicators and the general public to produce and participate in STEM events and activities – and parents can take advantage of the printables provided on its website too.
A range of activity packs detail hands-on, engaging and inexpensive activities from a Cloud Generator to a Giant egg timer to Soap boats.
Interested in motion? Download the Move it! activity pack and learn how to make your own rocket blasters. For flashcards providing symbol-supported resources for a range of special needs print out the Super Science pack. Or you could choose Colour Chaos, Explore the Future, Cracking Chemistry and Accidental Discoveries.
BSW also coincides with the forthcoming solar eclipse which will be visible over the UK in the morning of March 20th. Print out the Edible Eclipse activity sheet for some fun things to do with food that will help you to understand what’s going on.
Who knows, maybe you’ve got the next Einstein, Newton or Curie living in your house!
