Halloween is less than a week away – are you ready?
To the unknowing eye our house looks like we’re well on the way to finishing our spooky decorating but that’s because Mr Malpass and I got married on Halloween and we’ve incorporated a few of our wedding items into our home furnishing. As you can therefore imagine, the annual celebration is usually a big deal for us but with an energetic toddler and a baby on the way our preparations have been a bit delayed this year.
But fortunately for us we’re obviously not the only enthusiasts out there and many others have provided printables that mean getting ready quickly just means pointing, clicking and printing a few times. Let’s start wtith the stationery…
On Mina’s Journal the mum to four and nan to six shares her Printable Pop Up Halloween House Cards. The surprise haunted abodes comes in an orange, blue, black and green version and they’re a great way of saying boo through the post if you can’t do it in person.
If you’re playing host this year and not just sending cards then you definitely need to get your invitations posted out quickly. As part of its Halloween colouring pages Crayola includes a monster mash invite that your children can help personalise with their own choice of colours.
Making Learning Fun offers a simple witch and pumpkin design with spaces for date, time and place.
Lia Griffith’s Printable HalloweenParty Invitation and Envelope Liner includes a chalkboard-style invite featuring a cute black cat, smiling bat, happy ghosts and cheerful pumpkins and a pumpkin-filled envelope liner which forms part of her larger party kit that also includes a sticker sheet, candy wrappers, bats, a banner, food and treat signs, flags and cupcake wrappers and toppers.
If you’re planning on having a hoot then why not ask “whooo’s coming to the party?” with the help of A Little CLAIREification’s Printable Owl Halloween Invitation? And, as Claire points out, you could even send them to your guests electronically if you don’t have time to make to the post box.
For a range of different designs to match your particular “ghoulish affair”, including Halloween creatures, monster masquerade, a grave, spooky smile and evil pumpkins, Greetings Island is the website to visit.
Or, for something a little bit different and a lot of fun, head over to Mr Printables to download his Bag O’ Bones Halloween Party Invitation. The individual bone parts have notes and spaces for you to fill in. When your guest opens the envelope, the pieces of skeleton fall out of the envelope and they’ll have to piece together the information for the party details – “gruesome fun!” “There’s also a template to use as gift tags for your party favors in the same style, or for other boney decoration ideas of your own!”
For skeletal “wild coloured stationery, posters, flags and a skeleton template for this season’s craft activities” then head back to Mina’s Journal where you’ll find several different options to help decorate or record your memories of your boney-themed shindig.
And, if you are already considering how you’re going to frame your frighteningly fun photos, then click on Sizzix which has free scrapbooking papers to download as well as several project ideas to inspire you.
