Last year, 2012, was a difficult year for companies producing printers for the consumer market. Households are now sharing their digital images via social media sites such as Facebook, Pinterest and this has had an impact on sales of new inkjet printers.

Some companies have fought back with the introduction of new features such as wireless and cloud printing, but this has not proved enough of a reason to tempt home users to upgrade.

So it was inevitable that in a marketplace dominated by 3 major companies: HP, Canon & Epson. That continued declining sales would force smaller companies out of the consumer market.

Lexmark’s inkjet business lost 66% of sales in the first half of 2012 and Kodak’s sales figures were even worse!

So Lexmark are no longer selling consumer ink jet printers, although they are continuing to market their business orientated OfficeEdge range. Kodak have now pulled out of the inkjet printer marketplace altogether.

The good news is that both companies are committed to producing inkjet cartridges for the foreseeable future. You can see the full range we stock here: Lexmark Inkjet cartridges and Kodak Inkjet cartridges.

As well as original ink cartridges from Lexmark and Kodak, you can also easily purchase a high quality compatible/recycled ink cartridge manufactured by Jettec. (They are a UK based company who produce lower cost alternative cartridges and toners for the major brands of printers sold in the UK.)

We also stock this range for all the popular Lexmark printer cartridges such as the 34XL Black High Capacity Print Cartridge and the ever popular Kodak 10 Black ink cartridge.
