Genuine Inkjet/Laser Toner Cartridges
Genuine cartridges are designed and made by the manufacturer of the printer, also known as an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). Examples would be HP, Canon and Epson.
One complaint you will often hear from consumers is that genuine ink and toner cartridges cost so much, when the printer is often quite cheap in comparison. To save money, many people use compatible ink cartridges from a 3rd party vendor other than the printer manufacturer.

Compatible Inkjet/Laser Toner Cartridges
Compatible cartridges are brand new cartridges, made by a 3rd party, from new parts but avoiding any patent infringements etc..

Sometimes called “Remanufactured”, recycled cartridges are what the name says, empty genuine OEM ink and toner cartridges that have been professionally cleaned/refilled by a 3rd party and sold again to the general public.
