Previously we have talked about Google Cloud printing on this blog: Introducing Google Cloud Print This week Google made an announcement that they are now supporting their Google Cloud Print service from directly within the Windows operating system itself.
Until now, the only way to use this cloud based printing service was to either:
- Connect to your Google Cloud Print account via a supported “Cloud Print” printer
- Connect using the Google Chrome browser on a Windows PC.
This week Google released a Cloud Print Driver for Windows and is available from Google’s tool page.
Once installed it will act like any other wired or network printer connected to your Windows PC/laptop. You can see, in the image below, a “Google Cloud Printer” is added to the Print page window within Windows.
You will then have access to Google Cloud Print from within your favorite applications…
