Samsung S4 – Print To Any Printer

HP have just put released an announcement today regarding a partnership with Samsung on the Galaxy S4.

HP are promising a “no setup, tools, drivers, or network configurations to adjust,” and promise to offer a solution that will be one of the only of its type to access sophisticated printer settings like duplexing, color, orientation, and paper type.

Introducing HP ePrint

In this article we are going to look at a group of mobile printing technologies (for Android and Apple smartphones/tablets) that HP calls by the term HP ePrint.

Most of these HP ePrint technologies use cloud based resources to provide mobile printing capabilities for specific HP ePrint-enabled printers and Multi Function Printers (MFP).

Introducing Apple AirPrint

AirPrint is a similar technology to Google’s Cloud Print and HP’s ePrint. It is Apple’s version of Wi-Fi printing and was premiered in 2010. This driverless and wireless printing requires a printer that is AirPrint enabled. Printing can also be done from any of Apple’s mobile devices including all models of the iPad, iPhones that are 3GS or later, and iPod Touch that are third generation or later. Printers that are not AirPrint-enabled can use AirPrint by downloading special software.
